COLOUR OF THE YEAR 2020

In October 2019, Pantone announced the Spring/Summer 2020 NYFW (New York Fashion Week) colour palette. These 12 colours are a possible indication of what the Colour of the Year 2020 might be. Pantone talks about the need for familiarity and simplicity at a time when there is a lot of change. The colours presented below have been selected with this in mind.

A popular prediction for the 2020 colour is a focus on tones inspired by nature i.e. blues and greens. This is in line with the Dulux Colour of the Year, ‘Tranquil Dawn’, which is aimed to create calm in a technology-focused environment. What do you think? Biscay Green and Coral Pink stick out for me.
So, when do we find out what Pantone’s Colour of the Year will be? Pantone announced the 2019 Colour of the Year at the start of December last year, so it’s fair to assume that we should find out around the same time this year…we shouldn’t have to wait too long to find out. Watch this space!
